Angelo Gordon Honored to be Part of Inaugural Expanding Equity Program

Angelo Gordon was part of the first cohort of firms to participate in Expanding Equity, a program run by the W.K. Kellogg Foundation focused on addressing and advancing racial equity across the alternative asset management and financial services industries. 

In 2020, Angelo Gordon was proud to join with a number of other firms to participate in the W.K. Kellogg Foundation’s inaugural Expanding Equity program, which offers the tools and knowledge to help companies cultivate a workplace that attracts, develops, retains, and promotes diverse talent.

The opportunity for Angelo Gordon to learn alongside its industry peers and colleagues was invaluable to the firm’s ability to define and advance its diversity and inclusion commitments, implement initiatives that help build a more diverse workforce and promote a culture that celebrates the differences that make us unique as individuals and more successful as a team.

The cohort benefitted from the program’s access to the W.K. Kellogg Foundation’s deep expertise, knowledge, and networks – the Foundation has been at the forefront of the pursuit of racial equity for decades, making its own commitment to being an “effective anti-racist organization that promotes racial equity” back in 2007.  At Angelo Gordon, the experience was applied to refining its commitment and mission regarding diversity and inclusion and guided the expansion of its recruitment partnerships and processes to enhance its pipeline of diverse talent.

It’s by bringing together the diverse ideas and opinions from its employees’ various backgrounds and perspectives that enables Angelo Gordon to make more informed and better decisions about everything from investment processes to business activities to its interactions with its communities. Participating in the Expanding Equity program has played an important role in helping to shape the firm’s journey as it bolsters the recruitment, development and retention of diverse talent and builds and maintains a truly inclusive workplace culture.
